Star Clippers
Star Clippers - Upscale yacht-like ships, true sense of adventure
Star Clippers offer an upscale sailing experience on some of the fastest clipper ships around. Sailing to exotic destinations around the world, Star Clippers aim to give passengers an exciting and adventurous cruise, on board stylish yacht-like ships that boast a casual elegance and a true sense of intimacy. More flexible and informal than traditional cruises, a Star Clippers sailing trip offers the best of both worlds - boating enthusiasts are able to fully participate in a hands-on style, whilst more relaxed guests can just sit back and enjoy the cruise.
Star Clippers - Fleet of 3, reflect golden age of sailing
Founded by Mikael Krafft from Sweden, the Star Clipper line was launched in 1991. The Star Flyer and Star Clipper - both 360 feet long and carrying 170 passengers - were the first two ships, followed by the larger flagship vessel the Royal Clipper, 439 feet long with capacity for 227 passengers. The Royal Clipper, which joined the fleet in 2000, has 5 masts, more extensive facilities and is the only ship to offer private balconies. All 3 ships in the Star Clipper fleet are reminiscent of the golden age of sailing, with the decor full of teak decks and polished brass, and boast a truly nautical and romantic ambience. Entertainment on a Star Clipper cruise is relaxed and informal, with no dress code, timetables or assigned seating; however facilities such as swimming pools, a spa and gym create a sense of luxurious comfort.
Star Clippers - Sailing to smaller, more remote destinations worldwide
Sailing to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, the Far East and French Polynesia, Star Clippers offer over 30 itineraries. The ships are small enough to anchor at smaller less-crowded ports, such as St. Barts, Tahiti and Mykonos, which the mass-market ships cannot access. Star Flyer sails throughout Polynesia, and Star Clipper and Royal Clipper travel through Europe in the summer, and Asia and the Caribbean in the winter.
