MSC Poesia Cruise Ship

Launched in the spring of 2008, the Poesia is the latest venture for MSC and represents large-style Italian cruising at good value for money. She is the most environmentally-friendly of all the MSC ships, displaying 'green' technology and features aimed at conserving energy. The third of the Musica-class ships, the Poesia offers a distinct European cruise experience, with a strong Italian character. She departs from Genoa and Venice and takes passengers on cruises to the Mediterranean. 

 

The 89,600 ton Poesia measures 964 feet long, and has capacity to carry 3,013 passengers. Her 1,275 cabins range from basic rooms to luxury suites, with 80% of the cabins boasting private balconies. The Poesia has 16 passenger decks, all named for an Italian poet, and the decor is refined and sophisticated, with luxury touches such as marble finishes, and a dramatic 3-deck high waterfall. Features on board the Poesia include 2 swimming pools, 4 Jacuzzis, a jogging track, mini golf, tennis court, library, card room, art gallery and internet centre. The Spa on board the Poesia is extensive, with sauna, steam rooms and thalassotherapy treatments, and the gym offers modern workout equipment. Families on a Poesia cruise can make use of the children’s' area, Il Dinosauri, with its Stone Age theme, and activities and games for ages 3-13.       

 

The main dining rooms aboard the Poesia are Il Palladio and Le Fontaine which offer traditional seating, and L'Obelisco, an upscale eatery with a cover charge. Buffet meals can be enjoyed at Cafeteria Villa Pompeiana, and Kaito offers a range of unique food in the first Japanese restaurant in the fleet. Entertainment ranges from shows at the Carlo Felice Theatre to wine tasting at Il Grappolo D'oro Bar and gambling at the Casino Royale.
