Crystal Cruises - Two luxury cruise liners, large scale capacity
The cruise line is owned by one of the worlds' largest shipping companies, Nippon Yusen Kaisha, the NYK Line, which was created back in 1885. Crystal Cruises, based in Los Angeles, was founded in 1988 and caters almost entirely to the American market, attracting traditionally an older crowd, as well as increasing numbers of families. The cruise line is seen as an innovator in the market, being the first to fully upgrade its children’s' facilities, and introduce new products such as boutique restaurants, cyber cafes and computer classes for its customers. Its cruise liners include the Crystal Serenity, which can accommodate 1,050 passengers as well as 650 crew, and the Crystal Serenity, the smaller of the two holding 940 passengers.
