Costa Mediterranea Cruise Ship

One of the company’s' larger and more recent ships, the Costa Mediterranea is a sleek and stylish addition, known for its high proportion of balconies. Launched in 2003, the Costa Mediterranea offers a very Italian cruise experience, with elegant decor featuring marble, glass and silver, but with convenient facilities and amenities more in keeping with a typical American cruise liner. The Costa Mediterranea is also the first to add spa cabins on board. She sets sail on cruises around Europe and the Mediterranean, as well as the Caribbean.

The Costa Mediterranea weighs 86,000 tons and has capacity for 2,114 passengers. She has a total of 1,057 cabins, with almost all of them having ocean views and 678 with private balconies. The ships' interior is inspired by famous Italian palazzos, and touches such as lighting made from Murano glassa and lots of contemporary art pieces add to the glamorous decor. Features on the Costa Mediterranea include 12 passenger decks, 4 swimming pools, a cinema, hair salon, card room, library and 2 shops selling mainly Italian goods. The Olympia Gym on the Costa Mediterranea is well-equipped and spans two floors, offering saunas, steam rooms and treatment rooms. Children have plenty of occupy them at the Costa Kids Club, with age-appropriate groups and organised activities such as treasure hunts, games and tournaments.      

The main dining room on the Costa Mediterranea is the Restaurant Argentieri, with 2 sittings for dinner each night. The Club Medusa provides an alternative in which to eat, at an extra cost, and the Perla del Lago offers buffet breakfast, lunch and dinners. Entertainment on board the Costa Mediterranea features lavish shows in the Osiris Theatre, dancing at the Sevia Disco and gambling in the Canal Grande Casino. There are 6 bars on the Costa Mediterranea, including the central atrium bar, the Maschera d'Argento.
