Costa Fortuna Cruise Ship

Launched in 2003, the Costa Fortuna was designed to appeal to both the European and American markets, by offering the typical European cruise experience coupled with American-styled decor, amenities and comfort. Using designer Joe Farcus, who was responsible for the colorful and vibrant Carnival decor, the Costa Fortuna boasts a lively but not flashy interior with plenty of art displayed throughout, inspired by the grand transatlantic liners of the past and with a cruising 'Italian-style' theme. With an international passenger base, the Costa Fortuna sails to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

 

Weighing 102,587 tons and measuring 890 feet in length, the Costa Fortuna has a passenger capacity of 2,720. There are 1,360 cabins, 522 of which have balconies, with a number of suites available. The atrium of the Costa Fortuna displays scale models of past ships in the fleet, and the 13 passenger decks are named after classic ports visited by the Costa cruisers, such as Miami, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, with the public rooms paying homage to classic ships. Facilities on board the Costa Fortuna include 4 swimming pools, 2 Jacuzzis, a tennis court, jogging track, hair salon, library, computer room, spa and gym. The children’s' facilities cater for ages 3-12, with a separate toddler area and teen section.

Formal dining on board the Costa Fortuna takes place in the Raffaello and the Michelangelo Restaurants, or the extra-cost Club Grand Conte. There are 7 bars to choose from on the Costa Fortuna, including the largest bar on any ship, the Grand Bar Conte di Savoie, with 300 seats. Entertainment is varied on the Costa Fortuna, with the Rex Theatre seating 1,300 and offering a diverse range of shows, as well as the Casino Neptuna and the Vulcania Disco for gambling and dancing.
