Celebrity Xpedition Cruise Ship - Offering adventure eco-tourism cruises
The Celebrity Xpedition offers an innovative new approach to cruising, with her small-scale trips to adventurous and unusual destinations. Launched in 2001 as the Sun Bay I, the company re-launched her as the Celebrity Xpedition and in 2004 began offering cruises to the Galapagos Islands, taking small numbers of passengers and creating a more intimate luxury-yacht type experience for guests, but with many of the first-class facilities that the bigger ships offer. Eco-tours aboard the Celebrity Xpedition are 7-days long and sail the Ecuadorian waters around the Galapogos Islands, whilst giving passengers the chance to learn about the history and wildlife of the region.
Cruise on the Celebrity Xpedition - Smaller ship, limited passengers, luxury touches
At 2,842 tons, the Celebrity Xpedition is a much smaller ship than others in the Celebrity fleet, and has a capacity for just 98 passengers. She has a total of 47 cabins, 9 of which are larger suites with private balconies, and enjoys a better than average guest to staff ratio. The Celebrity Xpedition has 4 decks, and offers facilities such as a hot tub, beauty salon, fitness area, library and small shop. The Discovery Lounge on board the Celebrity Xpedition hosts naturist lectures and talks, as well as an Ecuadorian culture show and a bar. Passengers on the Celebrity Xpedition can take shore excursions twice a day to explore the islands, as well as enjoy extensive snorkelling in the coral reefs and hiking and swimming trips.
Celebrity Xpedition Ship - Low-key entertainment, plenty of shore excursions
