Celebrity Solstice Cruise Ship

The Celebrity Solstice will be the first in the new Solstice-class of ships from Celebrity and is due to enter service in 2008, travelling to the Eastern Caribbean, the Mediterranean and making transatlantic crossings. She will offer large-style cruising, with capacity for 2,850 passengers, and will debut some unique and original features, such as a real grass lawn club and glass-blowing classes and demonstrations, along with larger cabins, family staterooms and AquaClass cabins. The Celebrity Solstice will be followed by her sister ships, the Celebrity Equinox and the Celebrity Eclipse, as well as two further vessels which are as yet unnamed.

 

At 122,000 tons, the Celebrity Solstice offers a large capacity vessel with room for 2,850 guests. Passengers are offered accommodation in 1,425 cabins, with 7 different categories, 90% of which will have an ocean view and 85% will have verandas. The decor in the cabins, and throughout the Celebrity Solstice, will be contemporary and very sleek. Features aboard the Celebrity Solstice will include the unique Lawn Club, ideal for sports and recreation such as bocce and a golf putting green, and glassblowing shows and demonstrations. Facilities will also include 19 decks, swimming pools, a large cinema, library, art gallery and a state-of-the-art AquaSpa.  

 

Entertainment on the Celebrity Solstice will feature old and new venues, with favourites such as Michaels Club and Fortunes Casino joined by the Martini Bar, Crush, the place for vodka and caviar tastings and the Cellar Masters Bar which offers special wine tastings. The Solstice Theatre will show live performances on the Celebrity Solstice and the Ensemble Lounge will offer cocktail and live music, with the Sky Observation Lounge the place for late-night dancing. Dining on the Celebrity Solstice features a great choice including the formal Grand Epernay, Murano, Tuscan Grill and Silk Harvest, an Asian restaurant, as well as the more casual Bistro on Five, the Oceanview Cafe and Blu.
