Carnival Elation Cruise Ship - Fun-filled on-board experience, one of the lines' Fantasy-class ships 

One of the company’s' Fantasy-class ships, the Carnival Elation was the seventh to be launched in the line, and offers a fun-filled cruise experience, with around-the-clock activities. The Carnival Elation sails to Baja, Mexico from San Diego, embarking on four and five-day trips, and was the first ship to be based on the west coast all year round. Offering value for money, a Carnival Elation cruise attracts a broad clientele, ranging from young couples and families, to older travellers looking for non-stop activities.

 

Cruise on the Carnival Elation - With its literary-themed decor and rooms 

Built in 1998, the Carnival Elation weighs 70,367 tons and is 855 feet long. The ship was the first to be equipped with Azipods, a propulsion system that increases the vessels' manoeuvrability, a feature now used on many larger ships. The Carnival Elation has an occupancy of 2,052 passengers and uses a crew of 920, offering a 1 to 2.2 crew to passenger ratio. A total of 1,021 staterooms offer accommodation on the Carnival Elation, with 54 of those having private balconies, and all rooms above ocean level. The theme of the ship is famous authors and their literary works (e.g. Gatsby’s' Great Bar) and the Carnival Elation has an impressive Grand Atrium spanning 7 decks. There are, in total, 10 passenger decks, with 3 swimming pools, a jogging track, spa and fitness centre, internet cafe, shopping arcade and library. Children’s' facilities include the 'Children’s' World' play area and a Camp Carnival programme which offers plenty of supervised activities. A miniature golf course and upgraded water park is scheduled for 2008. Events such as bingo, quizzes and competitions keep the atmosphere light and fun-packed throughout the day on the Carnival Elation. 

 

Carnival Elation Ship - Non-stop entertainment, and a choice of restaurants and bars 

Entertainment on the Carnival Elation is in the form of traditional Vegas-style shows at the 1,300 seat Mikado Lounge, gambling at the Casablanca Casino, and music performances at the Cole Porter Lounge. There are various bars, such as Dukes' Piano Bar, Romeo and Juliet Lounge for karaoke and the Cole Porter Lounge for live music performances. Dining on the Carnival Elation is generally in traditional cruise-style, with assigned tables in either the Imagination or the Inspiration Restaurant, the more informal Tiffany Bar and Grill, a 24-hour pizza station, sushi bar or an old-fashioned midnight buffet.
