Carnival Destiny Cruise Ship - Original fun-ship, first of the Destiny-class cruisers
The first of the company’s' Destiny-class cruise liners, the Carnival Destiny is the lead ship in the group and the original 'fun ship', offering endless activities and non-stop entertainment on its Caribbean cruises. One of the largest cruise ships to set sail, the Carnival Destiny has an occupancy of 3,360 and weighs over 100,000 tons, the first cruise liner ever to do so. The ship underwent a major refurbishment in 2005 and now boasts a wealth of updated facilities, including one of the largest casinos at sea.

The Carnival Destiny entered service in 1996, and at the time was the largest passenger ship ever built (measured by gross tonnage), and the first to be bigger than the Queen Elizabeth. The ship has 1,321 larger than average cabins, 480 of which have private balconies, and over half of them with an ocean view. An impressive 9-deck atrium, the Rotunda, lies at the centre of the Carnival Destiny, and features onboard include the Nautica Spa, library, promenade of shops, card room, jogging track, golf driving net and four swimming pools, including a 200 feet waterslide. Children are well taken care of at Camp Carnival, where age-specific rooms offer supervised activities and playtime, with the Carnival Destiny also offering special teen shore excursions.

Dining on board the Carnival Destiny takes place in one of two formal restaurants - the Galaxy or the Universe - with two sittings for dinner. The Sun and Sea offers a breakfast and lunch buffet, and there is also a 24-hour pizza station and poolside barbeque. The Palladium Lounge is the main entertainment centre on the Carnival Destiny and seats 1,400, showing Vegas-style performances every night, with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. Other options for evening entertainment on the Carnival Destiny include the Apollo Bar, a lively sing-along piano bar, the Down Beat Lounge, All Sports Bar, Criterion Lounge (for midnight shows), the Millionaires' Club casino and the Point After Dark Dance Club.
